PhD Scholarship in Biostatistics at the Department of Biostatistics, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam , the Netherlands

The Department of Biostatistics (Faculty of Medicine) of the Erasmus Medical Center ( University of Rotterdam ) is recruiting PhD-students in Biostatistics. The candidates should have a Master in Statistics, Biostatistics or Mathematics and a strong curriculum vitae. Next to preparing a PhD, the candidates will also gain practical statistical experience in a variety of small research/consultanc y projects and clinical trials. The contract is for four years.

The Department of Biostatistics is known for its applied statistical research in repeated measurements analyses, missing data, survival analysis, Bayesian statistics, different areas in clinical trial topics and epidemiological models. Further, there is an intensive collaboration with the Department of Epidemiology.

PhD Studentships in Acute Lung Injury at Queen`s University Belfast

PhD Studentships Acute lung injury School of Medicine & Dentistry The School of Medicine & Dentistry are offering ten 3 year PhD studentships commencing September 2008.

Applicants should hold or expect to obtain a 1st class honours or upper 2:1 degree in a relevant biological science. Eligibility for both fees and maintenance (£12,940 in 2008/09) depends on the applicants being either an ordinary UK resident or those EU residents who have lived permanently in the UK for the 3 years immediately preceding the start of the studentship.

Non UK residents who hold EU residency may also apply but if successful may receive fees only. Two of the awards are identified for outstanding overseas candidates who will be eligible for fees and maintenance support.
